Community in a Community-less World

Presenter:  Dr. David Ludwig, Ph.D. - Professor at Lenoir-Rhyne, NC

Bible Study: Rev. Dr. Gerhard Michael - retired FLGA District President

In the midst of the individualism of our society we face a growing challenge both in our congregations and in our neighborhoods. While we formally call these communities, we realize that more and more there is a lack of genuine community. This reality is foreign to our calling as church as we have been called into the one body of Christ. It is a true void for the people in our society as they also were created for community. Our conference this year focuses on how we can address this challenge as church and how the proper addressing of this challenge serves as a contact point with our neighborhoods in our sharing with them the community that they increasingly are missing in their lives.

The conference utilizes the gifts and experiences of Dr. David Ludwig and Rev. Gerhard Michael to guide us as we consider this challenge. Each session addresses specific aspects of our life together as community through pertinent Bible study (led by Rev. Gerhard Michael), theoretical and practical application (Dr. David Ludwig), and time for directed discussion.
